Au terme du second tour des élections rectorales qui a eu lieu ce 8 novembre 2017, la liste “Nouvelle Vision” de Maxime da Cruz est arrivée en tête avec 65.50% des suffrages contre 34.50% pour “Myba Excellence”. Il devient donc le prochain recteur de l’Université d’Abomey-Calavi (Uac).
Les résultats du premier tour des élections donnaient en tête les listes “Nouvelle vision” de Maxime da Cruz et “Myba Excellence” de Delphin Mèhinto. Le nouveau recteur qui succède à Brice Sinsin était son premier vice-recteur.

La liste NOUVELLE VISION du Professeur Maxime da-Cruz , au vue des chiffres sortis des dépouillements au niveau des bureaux de vote, sort gagnant des élections rectorales. Elle vient donc à bout de la liste MYBA-EXCELLENCE du Professeur Delphin Mehinto, qui n’est pas visiblement arrivé à convaincre les électeurs, ceci malgré son alliance avec la liste EXCELLENCE.
Selon les grandes tendances, la liste NOUVELLE VISION vient en tête avec 617 voix soit un pourcentage de 65,50% suivie de la liste MYBA-EXCELLENCE avec 327 voix soit un pourcentage de 34,50%. Cette fois-ci c’est la meilleure, le Professeur da-Cruz succède au recteur Brice Sinsin , sauf retournement de situation, car il appartient à la commission de supervision de donner les résultats provisoires et définitifs.
Ces résultats montrent qu’au delà de ce qu’on pourrait penser, la participation de da-Cruz à la gestion de l’équipe rectorale sortante n’a véritablement pas pesé dans le choix des électeurs. Il aurait pu être victime d’un vote sanction , si l’on doit se fier aux différentes critiques enregistrées contre cette gestion.
La bataille aura été longue , mais au bout du rouleau une nouvelle ère s’ouvre pour
l’université d’Abomey-Calavi. Le nouveau recteur prend officiellement service le 18 décembre 2017.

Le second tour des élections rectorales qui a opposé ce mercredi 8 novembre 2017 la liste Nouvelle Vision de Maxime da Cruz à celle de MYBA Excellence dirigée par le professeur Delphin Mehinto a livré son verdict dans la soirée de ce même mercredi. Selon les grandes tendances, la liste Nouvelle Vision vient en tête avec 617 voix soit un pourcentage de 65,50% suivie de la liste MYBA Excellence avec 327 voix soit un pourcentage de 34,50%. Dans les heures à suivre, le président de la commission de supervision Kossivi Attikleme devra proclamer les résultats provisoires et définitifs. Le nouveau recteur prendra service le 18 décembre prochain. Maxime da Cruz a été vice recteur pour le mandat de Brice Sinsin.

Brice Augustin Sinsin was born in 1959, a year before the independence of his native country, Benin Republic (West Africa). Despite the challenges surrounding his childhood, Brice Sinsin worked very hard until he earned a Ph.D. with distinction in Agronomy at the Free University of Brussels (Belgium) in 1993. Having overcome every challenge on his way, Prof Brice Sinsin is today internationally applauded not only for his scientific achievements, but also for his management and leadership ability that has been best known after he became the Rector/Chancellor of the University of Abomey Calavi (UAC), the biggest university (consisting of more than 100,000 students) of Benin. During his tenure at the head of UAC, Prof Sinsin won several awards including the “Best Manager of the Year in Science and Education” in 2013 from the International Socrates Committee in Europe. In less than 4 years, his undeniable leadership and reforms brought more than a dozen of international prizes and awards to UAC.
His sense of teamwork, franchise, and reputation allowed him to extensively build a strong network of collaborators across the globe from Belgium, Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, China, France, Gabon, Germany, Ghana, Iran, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Namibia, Netherlands, Niger, Nigeria, Republic of Central Africa, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Togo, Uganda, United Kingdom, USA, etc. He has supervised more than 50 PhD Students in Africa, Europe, America, Asia, etc. Prof Brice Sinsin is the Director of the “Laboratory of Applied Ecology”.
